How to Reset AnyDesk ID?

What to do if you don’t want the remote IT support guy to silently gain access to your PC when you’re not around?

There is a simple way to force a reset. Exit the running AnyDesk instance, then go to C:\ProgramData\Anydesk. Your ID and Alias is stored in the service.conf.

I wouldn’t advise to delete any configuration file directly. This is hard lesson learned throughout the years dealing with server.

It is always good to backup a copy. Let’s rename it to service_backup.conf.

Now run AnyDesk, it will auto create a brand new service.conf. Now look at your AnyDesk ID, voila! You’ve just got a new identity!
